By DAC President Mark A. Keiser: Earlier this month, several Club Members came out to visit with Club leadership during our meet-up at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel in Anaheim. The hotel was once again a gracious host for our members, and opened their outdoor garden for us to meet new friends and talk about our Club.
We even had a chance to see some really special mementos that one of our members will be selling, probably at the Disneyana Show and Sale in July. Many things in this member’s collection have long been on my wish list, like the complete model of Main Street U.S.A. built by Robert Olszewski. (If I only had a place to put it!) You’ll have a chance to see it (and more) at our booth at the July Disneyana Convention, and maybe pick up a treasure or two for your own collection.
Please welcome former Disney Animation cast member Jim Houston to the Board of Directors.
Jim comes with more talents than we have space to list, but among those are membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and also being one of the inventors of Disney’s CAPS animation system. He contributed to films like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.
Another new member of the board is John Caldwell, who has eagerly supported us in a multitude of roles at a number of events, with outstanding results wherever he worked.
A former Disneyland Security Host, John was instrumental in ensuring that our 60th Anniversary celebration last August of Disneyland’s Birthday came off without a hitch. His skills and talents are very welcome on the Board of Directors.
